New mining contracts awarded as Endurance ramps up production and exploration
With the award of several major mining contracts, Endurance Mining is ramping up production and exploration at its flagship Abra operation, indicating a strong future for the mid-tier miner.
Mining contractor Byrnecut has been awarded a letter of intent for a four-year underground mining contract, commencing June 2026. Byrnecut has been providing underground services at the Abra mine since 2021.
Over that time, the Byrnecut team has demonstrated excellent safety performance, supporting operations through key moments in Abra’s journey, including the transition through Voluntary Administration. Since then, Abra has delivered record quarters of production and profits for lead-silver concentrate.
The $400 million contract extension, with an option for a further 2-year extension, recognises the success of this partnership to date.
“Byrnecut are very pleased to be given the opportunity to continue to provide underground mining services at the Abra operations for Endurance,” said Byrnecut Managing Director Pat Boniwell.
“We look forward to building on the excellent work performed to date by the combined Endurance and Byrnecut teams, as well as being part of the future success of this operation in delivering value to all stakeholders.”
Drilling contracts
As Endurance expands its exploration program, strong drilling partnerships are key to long-term success.
The tenure package is relatively underexplored. Endurance is committed to delivering value through disciplined exploration and progressing targets through a strategic pipeline of prioritised work.
Swick Mining Services was awarded a new three-year contract, commencing 1 April 2026, with two additional 12-month extension options.
Swick has been providing drilling services to the Abra operation since 2022. More than 53,000 metres has been drilled over the past 12 months, contributing to operational success through continued delineation of the Abra Mineral Resource. Members of the Swick Mining management team were onsite in March, further strengthening this long-term partnership.
A third diamond drilling rig will arrive onsite in late April to test potential mineralisation associated with the Apron and Abra hanging wall extensions in our underground operations.
Another drilling contract has been awarded to McKay Drilling for a one-month program for surface level exploration at Endurance’s Jillawarra tenements.
Further operational contracts
A letter of intent for the development of the next stage of the Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) at the Abra site has been awarded toMLG Oz, an ASX-listed company specialising in TSF construction and projects. Work is underway and is expected to be completed later this year.
Said Matt Hine, Endurance CEO:
“We’re a mid-tier, silver-lead focused miner, with an exciting upcoming program of works. The award of these contracts is a strong indicator of Endurance’s commitment to exploring for growth and optimisation opportunities, as we continue to embed Abra as an important part of WA’s mining community.
“We’re grateful to have received support for our exploration activities from the WA Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS).
“We continue to build strong partnerships with our communities and contracting partners, who share our vision that Endurance can be a leading silver and base metals miner.”
